Your credit union has one major event to say thank you to
its members and hopefully grow member loyalty – your annual meeting.
But how many of your members actually attend? And are yours like most
credit unions where the average attendant age is 70?
Turn your annual meeting into your annual member
appreciation day that’s capped off with the actual meeting. Think
rewards like cash incentives or fun member giveaways. Think fun guest
speakers that will help create a draw to the event while making your
members feel like they’re being further rewarded for being a part of
your credit union.
Further this feeling of "togetherness" by having your
staff attend the meeting, giving them the opportunity to interact with
your members. Whatever positivity you can grow is a great way to help
reinforce your credit union’s brand with its current and potential
members. Because, if you create enough of a buzz at your annual member
appreciation day and your members spread the word of all the fun and all
the freebies, who knows – your membership might even grow by the time
your next year’s event comes around!
